So this won’t create much of a ripple in the space/time continuum, but its passing deserves a few lines, I think. One of the greatest inventions in the world after Saran Wrap (sorry - an old Mel Brooks/Carl Reiner 2,000 Year Old Man joke there) has been the creation of the used bookstore. And the Fayetteville Public Library, like most libraries in America, has a dandy used bookstore. But ...

Notorious former Special Forces soldier Jonathan "Jack" Keith Idema has died at his home in Bacalar, Mexico . Idema, a former Fayetteville resident who was sentenced to prison in Afghanistan on torture charges in 2004, had been sick with AIDS, said his former girlfriend, Penny Alesi of Connecticut. Alesi said Idema was taken to a hospital on Jan. 9, but he refused to stay there and returned home ...
Woodsman Announces March Dates, Reissues Early EPs

A police association says it will file an ethics complaint against the Fayetteville City Council for its decision to suspend vehicular consent searches and ask the state Attorney General's Office to investigate.

Forty complaints of bias filed against the Fayetteville Police Department since 2007

The Fayetteville Police Department has had 40 complaints of bias-based policing filed against it since 2007. The department is required to keep a record of the complaints to report annually to The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement.
